In the second quarter of 2011, Kaspersky Lab experts have identified a new trend as spammers began using the various cloud services available online. Some emails contained links to the services of Google, which directed users to websites with ads or to phishing websites. Users are less likely to suspect such pages. This is because the spamming emails redirect to pages of popular online resources (eg Google Docs), while connecting using the secure HTTPS protocol that supports encryption and this reduces suspicion to some extent.

The task of spaming has lost its global nature, as spammers are forced to use smaller botnets as efficiently as possible. This means that they must choose their targets more carefully and to participate in what is known as “spear phishing” or targeted phishing. In such cases, the cyber criminals know the name of the target, even the name of the company where he/she works. When “armed” with such information, it is very easy to gain user’s confidence.

The deluge of information in modern times by the media and other information sources has led to daily “bombing” of the average human brain with such a large volume of information which could overload even a powerful computer, according to a new U.S. scientific research.

The study, conducted by researchers at the University of California-San Diego, under Roger Bon, according to the British “Times of London” and “Telegraph”, believes that people are every day inundated with the equivalent amount of 34 Gb (gigabytes) of information, a sufficient quantity to overload a laptop within a week.

Through mobile phones, the Internet, electronic mail, television, radio, newspapers, books etc. people receive every day about 105,000 words or 23 words per second in half a day (12 hours) (during awake hours). Although people can not really read these 105,000 words each day, this is the real number estimated to be reaching the human eyes and ears every day. After adding pictures, videos, games, etc., we reach the volume of 34 gigabytes of information per day on average.

The total consumption of information from television, computers and other information in 2008 was estimated (for the U.S.) to be 3.6 million gigabytes. Traditional media (TV and radio) continue to dominate the daily flow of information with about 60% of hours’ consumption. The study considers that our brains are not directly threatened, but does not exclude a detrimental effect or information “flood” which might lead to different development path of the human brain by creating new neural connections, given that our brain has now shown that it is “malleable” and can be “wired” each time differently, depending on the quantity and quality of the stimuli it receives.

According to the researchers, the main effect of information overload is that the human attention to focus is continually hampered and interrupted all too often, which does not help in the process of reflection and deeper thinking. As commented by the American psychiatrist Edward Hallowell, “never in human history, our brains had to work so much information as today. We have now a generation of people who spend many hours in front of a computer monitor or a cell phone and who are so busy in processing the information received from all directions, so they lose the ability to think and feel. Most of this information is superficial. People are sacrificing the depth and feeling and cut off from other people.”

In a more hopeful manner, neuroscientist and professor of physiology at Oxford University, UK John Stein, stressed that in the Middle Ages, when printing was invented, people were concerned that the human mind would not withstand a lot of information, which however was not true at the end. Bono, who did the actual research, explained that the study did not record how much information from these daily 34 gigabytes eventually is absorbed by the brain. On the other hand, he pointed out that what has changed in modern times is mainly the nature of the information received, rather than its quantity. As he said, looking at either a computer screen or talking face to face with someone, in fact our brain can absorb the same amount of information.

A face to face conversation has its own equivalent of bytes of information (not known how much), since the brain monitors the expressions of other people, listens to the tones of their voice, etc. According to the assessment of Bono, if such a face to face conversation causes our brain to store information with rate 100 megabits per second, then a two-hour conversation with someone will store even more information than the estimated volume of electronic information received within a day in our brain.

A very good innovation concerning computers today is the TV-to-PC software program which enables anyone with a personal computer (PC) to watch television on a PC. It actually converts your PC into a television set and you can watch around 3,500 channels from all over the world. Local direct broadcasts, those aired within a limited area or a community via old-fashioned antennas, cannot be accessed, however, as they are not bounced off communications satellites. Normal antenna signals cannot penetrate above the level of their horizons, if they can even reach that far.

But since you cannot watch all television programs simultaneously, and you will not be interested in seeing the local events of Timbuktu, for example (unless you are from Timbuktu), 3,500 satellite channels should be enough for you to choose one from. They include those from the major TV companies, the best productions in sports, movies, educational, shopping, news, radio, weather, children’s cartoons, and a lot of others in perhaps a hundred different languages. It is a virtual smorgasbord of shows, wherever there is an Internet connection.

But the best selling feature of a Satellite TV to PC program is its portability. Imagine taking your TV anywhere you can tote your laptop and watch —airport, bar, park, highway, office (during breaks only, mind), and perhaps when you are in the middle of the lake waiting for the fish to bite…the possibilities are virtually endless. You never have to lose track of your favorite sports game or drama, prices of stocks, trivia contests, news around the world and many others just because you are on a trip out of town. With satellite TV to PC software you can bring your television with you almost anywhere you go.

And it is inexpensive, since it is just one-time set-up and software fee, and then free after that. In the past, such a program would cost more than $300.00 plus monthly fees, but these days the $49.95 one-time set-up fee is all you need to spend. It certainly beats cable with its monthly subscriptions or the prepaid versions that require loads purchased beforehand. This TV on PC idea uses the free-to-air (FTA) satellite digital broadcasting system to send decoded signals to your PC.

But your PC must be configured to at least have a Pentium4 processor or similar of 300 megahertz speed, have 520 MB RAM, any Windows operating system, and at least 56K Internet connection, or broadband or DSL. This is because the quality of viewing depends on the speed the video stream is read by the PC. Otherwise you will see jerky movements and choppy dialogues. With the fee comes the software that enables your PC to access the Internet TV feed. After downloading and installing the small software that comes with the fee, you are ready to watch television on your PC.

A different Satellite TV to PC system requires the installation of a PC-TV card as well as a software, and this may be as good as the other method that I described at the beginning. However this method of watching TV on your computer requires hardware modifications and this is not always acceptable. You just have to comparison-shop if you want. Also beware of scams; remember you pay $49.95 only once and that’s it. A higher price than this is considered very expensive. A trusted Satellite TV to PC service is satellitedirect.tv which has received the best reviews all over the Internet.

So, enjoy TV programs anywhere you want, anytime.

The Internet is considered the information super-highway. You can find all kind of information you want just by browsing and searching online. People write and submit their articles anywhere. Article syndication is a hot trend for people looking to spread their ideas, brand, knowledge, name etc. Online Internet Marketers use also article syndication and distribution to market and promote their products. That is why Article Directories pop-up every where. These directories are intended to host all those articles that people create every day. Its a win-win situation. Article Directories get content and thus receive huge amount of traffic from Google, and therefore earn money from ads and adsense revenue. In return, the directory offers a link back to the article owner website which helps to promote his/her web property.

To automate the article distribution activities, there are a few good tools online which help you to automatically distribute your articles to hundreds of directories. An excellent tool which does this is Magic Article Submitter . This software will distribute your article to over 650 article directories in less than 20 minutes. The submitter comes also with an article rewriter tool which creates unique versions of your single article. This is useful in order to avoid duplicate-content penalties from Google which will occur if you submit the exact same article to all those directories. Check out the LINK HERE for more information about the Magic Article Submitter and Rewriter.

The concept of Free Electricity in households is very hot this period because of the economic recession that many nations go through. People want to cut expenses and the idea of reducing electricity bills for homes by at least 50% is very appealing. Imagine that for a second: Your average monthly electricity bill could be around $200 so saving half of that would mean a total savings per year around $1200 which is a nice sum of money.

There are a few Do-It-Yourself electricity generator plans and guides that you can find on the Internet. They are really helpful as they take you by the hand and show you how to create a “homemade” electricity generator with materials and tools that you can find easily on a DIY store. These generators are mostly based on wind or solar energy. The DIY guides basically show you on video and using graphical plans how to build solar panels and windmill electricity power systems. This means that the generator basically works with either wind or sun light in order to generate electricity from those energy sources. However, what if the place you live does not have a lot of wind or there is not much sun throughout the year?

I have stumbled across a new type of DIY electric generator, the so called “zero point perpetual magnetic generator”. This electricity generator is based on magnetic energy. You basically construct a free-wheel turbine motor which is placed in the middle of strong permanent magnets. The magnets are placed in such a way such that their magnetic field forces the turbine motor to rotate (indefinitely as they claim). The rotation of the turbine motor is what generates the electricity energy.

All of the above green-energy sources are an excellent concept for home use in my opinion. My only doubt is about how much reduction in electricity bills you can achieve. I have my doubts regarding the power efficiency and how much actual electricity you can produce with such systems. If you are a person with good practical skills you can try one of those DIY guides about “generating free electricity” and draw your own conclusions. If your home electrical needs are relatively small, I believe that a “free electricity generator” can reduce your bills by a significant amount. If you however live in a house with high electricity consumption, then don’t bother with such a DIY electrical generator. Check out the following guides about building your own “green electricity” generator for more information.

If you really want to know how to pass you CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) exam then you’ll want to read every word of this article. There are several key areas that you need to master in order for your best chance of success to pass the CCNA test.

You will want to get comfortable with all the different realms of information. Like anything else that you want to achieve, the true keys is not whether you can gather a multitude of books, manuals or other learning materials, it’s whether you have the determination and drive to get the job done.

There are so many types of learning guides and materials out there, so many in fact that sometimes you can be burdened down with information overload. This is where you continually seek out new material, and there is a ton of it out there, you have so much that it all becomes very confusing instead of easier. Many of the so called ‘can’t miss’ study courses that are offered only give you a false sense of knowledge.

Once you realize that in order to pass your CCNA exam, it will take some hard work and dedication on your part, as it is a very difficult test to pass, will your journey get better.

Once you decide that you are ready to embark on the journey of passing the CCNA exam, the next step is to set out a realistic time frame to do so. When you set this time frame, be honest with yourself. There’s nothing worse then trying to complete the Cisco certification in less time than you are physically or mentally able to handle.

Once a realistic time frame is in place, it is nice to have a calendar with your time schedule in front of you to keep you focused and determined to meet your schedule. Also, a weekend excursion away, a bottle of finely aged wine, or anything that will keep you going when the times get tough are all recommended.

Now, the CCNA exam is one of those certifications that a proper training is required to pass it. You can go for an instructor class-based training (usually 5-day boot camp) and get the required training. However this option is very expensive and study intensive since you are not studying on your own pace. The other great option is to get a computer based training (usually video training style) where you get videos plus audio plus many practice questions and instructor notes for a complete training in your home. What I used personally and passed my Cisco exams (CCNA, CCNP, CCSP) is the Trainsignal Video Training packages which offer excellent value and in-depth training to pass the CCNA or any other Cisco exam. Check out Trainsignal Website for more information.

In addition to the training I suggest above, I also recommend you to get some tangible book study material that others have used and been successful with. Here are some books that you should look into:

Cisco Press CCNA Study Guide

Jeremy Cioara’s Exam Cram and Prep Guide

Any books on the subject by Todd Lammle.

I highly recommend the Cisco Press books. These books are usually the best because they come from the actual exam giver, Cisco. Therefore, the exercises and test questions will be very relevant to what you’ll see on the exam. Moreover, a Cisco Press book will be a great reference even after you pass your CCNA exam.

Having some highlighters and a note pad is a must in order to go back for easy review of any of the topic that you studied. When ever you have some extra time, even just five or ten minutes, you can whip out your study notes and do a quick review. This will keep you sharp, and get you into some good study habits.

Perhaps the best resource that you can find is the actual people that have gone through and passed their CCNA exam. You don’t have to have a face to face with them. Because of the speed and convenience of the Internet, you can search them online and seek any and all information you need.

Talking with these people that have gone through and learned how to pass the CCNA exam is an easier way to learn then any book or course that you could buy. Real life experience is better then any book ever printed. Good luck for your CCNA certification efforts.
