Remove Windows Police Pro-How to Remove Windows Police Pro permanently
Make Sure to Follow all steps exactly below.
STEP 1: Download the Antispyware Tool Below
STEP 2: Download the Following two Registry Fix Files
Enable-Task-Manager.reg
Enable-Executables.reg
STEP 3: Read ALL Details Below
If you see a window pop-up like the picture below, it means that you are infected with the Windows Police Pro virus, and this is not good at all!!! Read more details below to learn how to Remove Windows Police Pro both manually and automatically.

As you can see from the picture above, Windows Police Pro looks like a legitimate antivirus software, but this is not true. It is a rogue program that claims to be genuine antivirus software in order to convince the computer user to purchase it. Of course, if you fall in the trap and pay for it, you will just lose your money because Windows Police Pro is a virus itself. For a free scan of your system to verify if you are indeed infected with Windows Police Pro, download the Antispyware tool that I mention in Step1 above, install it and perform a full system scan. If you are unable to run the Antispyware tool I suggest, Download and run also the two Registry Fix Files that I mention in Step 2 above. More Details in the Automatic Removal section below.
If you got infected with this pesky malware, it will block your PC from running various windows legitimate programs stating that they are infected with viruses and thus you can not execute them. Furthermore, various bogus windows warnings and system alerts will start showing up stating that your computer is under attack and that you should purchase Windows Police Pro to fix your system.
You MUST take action immediately to get rid of this scam parasite as soon as possible. You can remove Windows Police Pro either manually or automatically (recommended). Manual removal requires you to be expert in computers and is not recommended since you have to delete entries in the Registry or delete files under “Program Files” folder which makes it kind of dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing. Anyhow, read below for both methods of removing Windows Police Pro permanently.
Remove Windows Police Pro Automatically (Recommended)
Since Windows Police Pro will not allow you to run any programs on your PC and also will disable your task manager, you need to download the following two files and save them on your desktop.
Enable-Task-Manager.reg
Enable-Executables.reg
First double click on the first file (Enable-Task-Manager.reg) and press YES when it asks you to merge the data into your current registry. After you do that, you will be able to start the Task Manager as following:
Press Start + R and then type “taskmgr” and press Enter. This will open the Task Manager window. Put a checkmark on “Show processes from all users”. Then go to “Processes” tab and find the process WindowsPolicePro.exe. Right click on it and select “End Process”. Using the same procedure, stop also the following processes (some processes might not be present on your own system):
svchast.exe or svchasts.exe
ANTI_files.exe
dbsinit.exe
minix32.exe
After you terminate the processes, you need to enable again the ability to execute windows programs on your computer. Double click on the second file that you downloaded above (Enable-Executables.reg) and select YES when it asks you to merge the data into your current registry. After you do that, you will be able to run antispyware tools to clean the infection as described below.
To safely remove Windows Police Pro and any remnants of it, or any other malware and viruses residing on your computer, I would recommend to Download the Free Trial of Spyware Doctor Here, or visit the Spyware Doctor Website for more information. If you have already downloaded and installed the Spyware Doctor in Step 1 at the beginning of this guide then you can skip this step.
You can download the free version of Spyware Doctor and perform a system scan. Spyware Doctor free version is for spyware detection only. If the computer scan confirmed that you are infected, you can register the full version of Spyware Doctor to remove Windows Police Pro permanently.
Remove Windows Police Pro Manually
The following steps are not guaranteed to always work and we take no responsibility for any computer damage. You should proceed only if you know what you are doing. Backup your registry first before proceeding by going to Start>Run>regedit and then File>Export to save the registry.
Step1: Stop Windows Police Pro Processes
Press Start + R and then type “taskmgr” and press Enter. This will open the Task Manager window. Put a checkmark on “Show processes from all users”. Then go to “Processes” tab and find the process WindowsPolicePro.exe. Right click on it and select “End Process”. Using the same procedure, stop also the following processes (some processes might not be present on your own system):
svchast.exe or svchasts.exe
ANTI_files.exe
dbsinit.exe
minix32.exe
Step2: Delete the following Registry Values
Press Start + R and then type “regedit” and press Enter. Delete the following registry keys: (Your system might not contain all the registry keys shown below)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run “minix32″
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Windows Police Pro
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Win Police Pro
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\antippro2009_100
Step3: Delete the following files and folders
c:\WINDOWS\system32\dddesot.dll
c:\WINDOWS\system32\desote.exe
Delete the following folder with all files inside the folder:
c:\program files\windows police pro\
Delete also the following:
%UserProfile%\start menu\Programs\windows police pro\Windows Police Pro.lnk
%UserProfile%\Desktop\Windows Police Pro.lnk
c:\WINDOWS\svchasts.exe

OMG Thank you so much for publishing the how to remove windows police pro. You made it so easy a 5 yr old coild do it. Thanks.
Thanks for the removal, this procedure and with help of this website I was able to remove Windows Police Pro
Thanks for the awesome post, it helped me out a lot.
Did everything and while it seems to be gone, I have this message ” This copy of windows is not activated. In order to be propoerly licensed copy of windows must be activated.” and I cannot get into anything but safe mode. help
Hello JCH,
The message you get is not related with the Windows Police Pro virus per se but it may be a consequence of the virus. Maybe the virus deleted your already activated windows registration key. You need to activate windows again following the instructions from Microsoft at the following link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307890
First, open up your Task Manager (control, alt & delete), then end the Windows Police Pro process. Also end the svchast.exe process. Then go to RUN, and type regedit to edit your registry. Do edit find Windows Police Pro and delete those entries. Then you should be able to access the Spyware Doctor websites, download and install their programs, do a scan and remove the infection.
THis WORKS!!!! but it’s really hard to do you have to keep trying to do this, the virus won’t just give in. Keep closing popups in task manager (PROCESSES AND APPLICATIONS) repetitively. Keep trying to run regedit!!! ( in the run task in the start menu). Search for police pro. Keep closing pop ups and keep searching for files until spyware doctor allows you to download it. If it won’t download keep going into regedit and keep searching for police pro. Then wipe it out!!!!!! This is the 8th way I tried and it finally worked!! I’m soooooo happy!!!!! October 15th 2009
When I hit “start + r” and type in “taskmgr”, The Virus stops task manager from opening and I am told that the application is infected.
Hello Eric,
Have you first tried to run the two registry files that you can find on my website? The first file (Enable-Task-Manager.reg) will enable you to run task manager again. If you still have problems, boot into safe mode (reboot your computer and press and hold your “F8 Key” which should bring up the “Windows Advanced Options Menu”. Use your arrow keys to move to “Safe Mode” and press your Enter key.). From safe mode try to follow the procedure again as I described in my post above.
It also says that admin deactivated taskmgr. How could I activate same?
Dante,
As I described to Eric above, you need to run the two registry repair files that you can download from my article post above. Try also to log into safe mode and then perform all the steps again.
I am trying to run regedit to manually update the registry key, but get the following error message “The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect.” I’m assuming the virus if blocking this. How do I get around this?
Windows Police Pro 2010 has disabled everything… i cant download anything to desktop because cant get online (im on a macbook right now…) taskmgr, registry are both “disabled by administrator” also getting C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe Application not found error. can get into Command Prompt but that is all. when trying to open “help files” downloaded on flash drive and saved to pc desktop “open with” page appears, programs wont just run. Please help??
when i try to download those two task manager files…a popup comes up saying “registry editing has been disabled by your administrator”
but i am te administrator of my computer..
so whats another way to do it then?
Boot into safe mode with networking. Then browse to the post above and download the two registry files. Run them under safe mode and then follow the rest of the steps above.
I have the same issue as Helen but when I try to boot to safe mode I get a blue screen
*** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF8C0E528, 0xc0000034, 0×00000000, 0×00000000)
Any thoughts?
I’m having the same issue as Andi. Did anyone find a workaround for this corporate spyware? I bet Target, Walmart and Best Buy pay these people to spy on us.
Same problems as all of above. I tried safe mode with networking but as soon as it start booting up, it shut down and then the same screen with all the booting options reappear. Unable to run safe mode. I’m going to buy Spydoctor tomorrow but I’m afraid that it won’t let me install it or run it (didn’t let me download it!). any other option?
Thanks
Task manager opens no problem but can’t keep up ending processes. it regenerate itself after few seconds. I don’t have svchast.exe but many many svchost (with o instead of A). Is that the same?
No presence of ANTI_files.exe dbsinit.exe and minix32.exe.
Tried the manual mode. Saved registry (export)but no prensence of:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run “minix32″
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Windows Police Pro
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Win Police Pro
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\antippro2009_100
No presence of these files either (tried also a search)
c:\WINDOWS\system32\dddesot.dll
c:\WINDOWS\system32\desote.exe
What would you recommend?
I would really appreciate your help!
Thanks
OK guys, here is another way to go around the problems:
(You may need to disable System Restore for better results)
1. Download MalwareBytes Anti-malware tool from http://www.malwarebytes.org/. Get the Free Version of it.
2. Put it on your Desktop.
3. Boot into Safe mode with Networking.
4. Install MalwareBytes now and update it to latest version. If safe mode does not allow you to install it, then try to install it under normal boot mode.
5. When you are still in safe mode, run MalwareBytes and perform a Full scan. This should take around 40-45 minutes to finish and will find several infected files.
6. After the scan is finished, ask malwarebytes to clean all infections found.
7. Reboot and get again into safe mode. Run Malwarebytes a second time. It will find more infected files. Clean them up.
8. Boot now into normal mode and follow the original steps that I describe on the top of this webpage.
Can’t get to system restore or boot in safe mode, I’m getting blue screen. Also can’t download anything or install anything on my computer either. Any ideas?
I’ve loaded the two files on the desktop via another computer and thumb drive. Can’t run them…
So, reboot in safe mode, but that won’t work either… It always comes back to the opening page and asks what mode to reboot in…
Is this thing so powerful, it can take over everything?
Ugh. John
Police pro is not letting me run the registry files so i am unable to proceed further. Also it is showing bad websites whenever the IE opens.
PLZ PLZ help is appreciated….
I have not figured a way in yet.
I cannot get into the task manager in any way. I have tried the above referenced files but they will not work. Get back a box that says task manager has been locked by administrator.
I cannot get to the command prompt.
I did download malwarebytes. It is not allowed to install even if I change the file to a .com.
I cannot get to safe made. Police Pro has blocked that as well.
I cannot delete the Police Pro program. I did rename it. That has stopped the continuous pop ups but did not unlock anything.
There is another program “Security Tool” which started making pop ups after I renamed Prolice Pro. I saw somewhere else that this is related to Police Pro. I found this program and did the same thing. However, every time I reboot it regenerates a random number and renames the program to that random number. For instance the program may be named “678655″. I rename it to “z”. When I reboot the program will still work and now its name is 893767″.
I simply cannot find a way in.
Thanks for all the great info. Looks like WPP won’t let me boot into safe mode. Guess I’ll be reformatting tonight..
Whooou guys and girls it seems like the situation with Windows Police Pro is getting out of control. It seems that the virus has evolved into a newer version. I have seen it coming out as Police Pro 2010 now. That’s why many of you can not get rid of it with the procedure I describe above. Let me find some more info and will get back to you again.
Thanks for the good start BlogAdmin.
Here’s what I did and it worked – pretty simple, but lengthy.
First, took the laptop HD out and connected it as an external USB drive to a good computer with an up-to-date virus scanner. Closed all active programs not needed on good PC and as soon as the Hard Drive was detected, I ran a manual virus scan on the new HD (showed up as drive H: on my good PC). Waited – it found a bunch of infected stuff. What it didn’t or couldn’t quarantine, I navigated to the files and deleted them myself.
Second, I put the HD back into the laptop and turned it on. Once it booted up (safe mode didn’t work on my end either) and all the black window pop-ups came and went, I opened My Computer (find someway into your Windows Explorer). I navigated to C:\WINDOWS and scrolled down to regedit.exe. (I’m running WIN XP MCE SP3. If you can’t see regedit.exe, then manually go to tools Folder Options and show all hidden files & folders)
Third, to get into my registry editor I right-clicked on the “regedit.exe” file and chose to “Run as…”. This brought up a popup that asked me which account I wished to run it from. I unchecked the “Protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity” and hit OK (My only account is myself and I’m the administrator).
From here, I was able to FIND several of the items BLOGAdmin has listed. I also could not run his two downloads provided, so what I did was edited them to find where the two keys in his fixes were and manually navigated to them. For the “Enable-Task-Manager”, I found the key and deleted it. For the “Enable-Executables”, I found the key and modified the value so it only read exactly as follows: “%1″ %*
Next, after verifying that I carefully searched all his keys above, I closed the registry editor.
Lastly, within my Windows Explorer, I searched and manually deleted all the files and folders he identified above and then restarted the laptop.
When it came back up, no blank windows and I was able to connect to the internet, update my antivirus, and now I’m running another full system scan to be sure. Also, I plan on deleting all items in my Quarantine from within my Norton. Since this is my brother’s laptop, I plan on yelling at him for looking at stuff he shouldn’t have or downloading things he shouldn’t have. I’m also going to tell him to spend less time on the computer and more time with his three kids and lovely wife.
Good Luck!
BlogAdmin, I love you for your help, this had been sitting in my ToDo stack for almost two weeks. Kenneth
Hey Ken, thank you very much for your detailed description for removing windows police pro. I’m glad I was a little bit helpful. Every infection case is different so I hope that my post gives a good start for everyone in order to get rid of the windows police pro malware.
