Welcome to Technology in the 21st Century. My name is Harris Andrea and I work as a network and IT engineer in an ISP company. This site entails my knowledge and experience attained over the years from my profession and also from my projects related to technology.
I’ve graduated from the University of Kansas in 1999 with a Bsc and Msc degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and since then I’ve been working in the IT field in different areas and positions.
Although I’m primarily a network guy, every aspect of the technology and IT world entices me. From network administration and design, to information and computer security, software testing, penetration testing, gadgets etc. I like to get into everything related to IT and technology.
I have been involved with IT for more than 2 decades, being split roughly in half with 10 years working with Cisco TCP/IP networks and the last 10 years working in information and networks security. Currently I’m a systems engineer working with cloud and virtualization technologies.
Outside my professional environment I’m also a technology junkie and I enjoy “playing” with tech gadgets, testing software, evaluating specs of products to find the best among many etc.
Therefore, this site will be dealing with technology in general (news, how-to guides etc). You will find also several software reviews and product recommendations according to my own user experience.
Regarding my professional qualifications, I’m a Cisco Certified engineer holding a CCNA, CCNP, and CCSP certifications.
I believe that putting the effort to earn a few professional certifications, such as the ones offered from Cisco, not only gives you an outstanding professional career advancement but most importantly gives you the required know-how to cope with the high demands of the technology and IT fields.
Recently I have also acquired several information security certifications such as CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) and ECSA (EC Council Security Analyst).
